The Article in Süddeutsche Zeitung Nr. 105 is about Sebastian Anton Kneipp, who was born 200 years ago. He got famous (not always liked) and still is, not only because of his water treatments. Scattered all over Germany, there are small water pools near villages where one is supposed to walk like a stork. The use of Kneipp baths (not the bubbly ones for bathtubs) are no longer as popular as they were fifty years ago but cold water baths are hip. Swimming in icy lakes in the winter is not just something Wim Hof, the “Ice Man” does. Kneipp did not only introduce the treatment with water (not the first one) but had a lot to say about a healthy lifestyle which fits today's approaches of mind-body-medicine, says the author.
